During the 2025 Annual Managers Meeting, Jaraguá, Goiás, established itself as an example of smart urban transformation with the Jaraguá Luz project: an initiative that modernized Public Lighting and created the foundation of an integrated digital ecosystem, with a direct impact on safety, the economy and the population’s quality of life.
+8 thousand light points modernized and smart Remote Management
The project replaced 8,395 Public Lighting points with LED luminaires, with greater energy efficiency, brightness and safety. The modernization also integrated 2,000 strategic points into TIM Smart Lighting Remote Management, developed in partnership between TIM Brasil and M2M and operated by NOX Manager, M2M’s platform that offers remote control, real-time diagnostics and proactive network maintenance.
This Remote Management infrastructure became the foundation for other technological advances:
- Connectivity between public equipment
- Interconnection of urban video surveillance cameras
- Free Wi-Fi in squares and public places
- Environmental sensing and integration with solar panels.
Clean energy and public connectivity
Jaraguá also took a step forward in the energy transition with a 500 kWp photovoltaic solar plant, ensuring self-sufficiency in energy generation for the lighting system and increasing savings for the public coffers.
The city was connected by a 28 km fiber optic network linking public buildings, 38 smart cameras, free Wi-Fi in public areas and the new Operational Control Center (CCO), which centralizes data and decisions in real time.
Omnichannel service and closeness to citizens
The project also transformed the relationship between the population and the public service, with service channels such as a website, chatbot, toll-free support and omnichannel service, making contact faster and more effective.
Safety, sustainability and well-being
Well-distributed and monitored lighting reduces crime, improves the perception of safety and stimulates nightlife, local commerce and social life in public spaces. The use of clean energy and the efficiency of the system contribute directly to urban sustainability.
